Dianne Farley-Jones M.D., CNS
She earned her medical degree at Oregon Health Sciences University and also completed two years of medical studies at the Faculté Libre de Médecine in Lille, France.Dr. Farley-Jones is board certified in Family Medicine, having completed her residency at the University of Utah. In 1998 she served as the president of Utah Academy of Family Physicians. She also completed a three-year course in classical homeopathy at the Hahnemann College of Homeopathy in California, and is certified in medical nutrition by the Certification Board for Nutritional Specialists. Dr. Farley-Jones is on the staff of American Fork Hospital and Timpanogos Regional Hospital. |
P Eugene Watson, MD
Gene earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in 1967. He was awarded the Thomas Durant Prize in Internal Medicine as the graduating senior who best exemplified the ideal physician. He did his medical internship at Wilmington Medical Center, Wilmington, DE and was voted Intern of the Year. After serving two years in the Navy, he started his family medicine practice in Brandon, Vermont. He has been board certified in Family Medicine from 1976 until 2016. After leaving Vermont Gene had a private practice in Kinston, NC for 10 years. While there he served on the medical board of the hospital, served on the executive board of the medical staff and served a term as Chief of Staff. He left Kinston in 1980 to work in Emergency Medicine and has worked in Emergency Medicine in South Boston, VA; Kinston, NC; Rutherfordton, NC; and is currently working part time at St. Luke’s Hospital in Columbus, NC. In 2013 Gene worked with the NC Food and Water Watch group to try to get GMO labeling in the state of NC. He has worked since then in helping to educate the public on GMOs and the changes to our food supply. One way is hosting public showing of documentaries such as Genetic Roulette, What’s with Wheat, Hungry for Change and Food Matters. |
to Derek A. Shubin, D.V.M.
Dr. Shubin is a retired veterinarian with extensive experience in small animal and exotic animal medicine, internal medicine, veterinary dental therapy, preventive medicine, routine and major general surgery and extensive orthopedic surgery. He practiced for 35 years (15 years in California and 20 years in Colorado Springs, Colorado). He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. He served as a Marine Corps combat helicopter pilot in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 and on Caribbean, South American and Mediterranean carrier deployments in 1970. Dr. Shubin left the Marine Corps in 1971 to go school at Colorado State University (CSU) where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1977. It was at CSU that he acquired a complete nutritional foundation for animals which also translated over into humans. He practiced in a partnership in Rancho Mirage, California for 9 of the 15 years he spent in California before returning to Colorado to establish a new practice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He began as a one doctor practice but eventually expanded to a three doctor office. Nutrition was a key cornerstone of his practice philosophy in healing, health restoration, general health maintenance and immune system activation and support. He married his wife, Linda, in 1966 which represents over 50 years of happiness and joy. They have five children and 11 grandchildren. He and Linda retired to Gilbert, Arizona in October 2012. |
Dan Fouts, BSc, DC
After 26 years as a Chiropractor in private clinical practice, Dr. Fouts shifted his focus to ongoing intensive review of the medical nutritional literature with an emphasis on new nutrition technology discoveries. Dr. Fouts has subsequently both authored and taught numerous Continuing Medical Education courses to health care professionals as well as lectured to the lay public in over 300 cities in 13 countries. Dr. Marcia Schaefer, DC
Dr. Marcia Schaefer grew up in Wisconsin and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. She attended Palmer College of Chiropractic obtaining her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2010. While studying at Palmer she chose to become trained in Holistic Nutrition. Shortly after graduating chiropractic college, she faced a life-threatening condition and put her training to work with remarkable results. Her deepest passion is shifting the health status of future generations through epigenetics. She empowers healthy families focusing on preconception and fertility. She transforms the way people look at their health and wellness for the benefit of future generations. She opened Spring Creek Family Chiropractic in July of 2011 and enjoys working with families and individuals as they improve their health. Dr. Schaefer started DrMarciaSchaefer.com in 2017 as an online resource to further her mission and position in the preconception and fertility world by assisting doctors, healthcare providers and individuals transform their own health and practices. She speaks internationally and teaches for the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Dr. Marcia has a son and daughter and lives in Wisconsin. |
Cathleen Beerkens, RN, BS, BSN, Health Coach
Cathleen graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Health Education in 1983. She continued her education by receiving a BSN from Georgetown University Nursing School in 1984. She began her nursing career at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC where she worked for 12 years in the Emergency Room, Surgical and High Risk Labor and Delivery units. She also enjoyed many years teaching as a Teacher’s Assistant in the Georgetown University Nursing School, conducting childbirth education and working with midwives. For two years, she was Vice President of the American Women’s Club in Amsterdam and organized the monthly events with many inspiring speakers. In the Netherlands, she turned to many different forms of alternative medicine, after realizing that her western medical background was not offering complete solutions to promote holistic healing. She was constantly amazed by the positive changes these ancient and new discoveries of healing had brought. She found true value in nutrition, dietary adjustments, emotional and energetic healing. In the meantime, she has received certification in Polarity Healing, Reflexology and Re-connective Healing. She graduates in March 2017 from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City as a Health Coach. For 14 years, she has been studying the science of glycobiology and is determined to bring this vital education to the world. In the Netherlands, she has established a healing practice and an educational business. Cathleen lives with her family in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where she raised her three children with her Dutch husband. |
Joy O. Moore, RN, GNWC, LCFT
Joy earned her Diploma in Nursing from Presentation School of Nursing, Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1968. Joy has worked in Medical Surgical nursing in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She worked in Coronary Care and Intensive Care Units in Texas and Louisiana. In addition, she worked in a Family Practice Clinic in Palatine, Illinois. Joy enjoys learning and has completed continuing education courses in the Science of Glycobiology, Stress Management, Bi-Polar Disorder, Depression, Integrative Medicine, Lower Back Pain and many others. Joy has a passion for volunteering and participates with Angie’s Option GRM as a key member of the Mastermind Group. She has organized and staffed many service medical clinics in Southern California for The Festival of Life, a mission organization that serves local communities free of charge. She has also served international medical mission trips to Korea, Poland, Uganda, and Sweden. Joy has two grown daughters and six grandchildren. Her involvement with family occupies a large portion of her free time but she also enjoys traveling and hiking! |
Mary Kay Tanka, RN, BSN, MNA
Mary Kay is a registered nurse who received her Diploma in Nursing from Presentation School of Nursing, Sioux Falls, S.D. She has a Bachelor of Health Science from St Francis College in Joliet, Illinois and a Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration from Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois. Mary Kay specialized in pediatrics. Her experience ranges from bedside nursing to managing a pediatric unit. She has worked in several pediatric offices. From 2007-2011, she was a member of the nursing faculty at Kauai Community College and taught various nursing courses. In 2010, she was recognized with the UH Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award. After completion of the Hilton Johnson Health Coaching Course, she provided one-on-one nutritional/healthy eating coaching to pediatric patients. Mary Kay successfully completed the year-long Hilton Johnson Health Coaching Course and the Texas Women’s University Nutritional Coaching Course. She has course experience in stress management, integrative medicine, and glycobiology. Mary Kay is a Reiki III practitioner and has also served as President of the Plainfield Kiwanis Club. |
Pamela Watson, RN, BSN
Pam earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1979. She worked on a medical-surgical floor at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, NC for one year before moving to South Boston, VA. In South Boston she was the night charge nurse on a medical floor for a year before moving to Labor and Delivery. She worked in L&D at South Boston for six years before moving to Kinston, NC where she also worked L&D. After being in Kinston for two years, she moved to Rutherfordton, NC where she worked L&D, Women’s Unit, Newborn Nursery and the Emergency Room. She stopped practicing as a nurse in 2003. Since then she has been active in various organizations serving as a volunteer. In 2013 Pam worked with the NC Food and Water Watch group to try to get GMO labeling in the state of NC.
