Images of children in iron lungs or with crutches are etched in memories and in photographs depicting the polio epidemic. Wearing masks, social distancing, and locking down the economy were never considered while Drs. Sabin and Salk worked tirelessly for years on their different vaccines. Despite today's false hope that vaccinations will save us from medical calamities, the facts prove that diseases like measles were not cured by a vaccine. Most diseases did not have a vaccine and were cured by improvements in living conditions. By the time the measles vaccine came out in 1963, the death rate from measles had already declined 99.96%. Deaths from asthma were ten times worse than measles that same year. There never has been a vaccine for asthma or most diseases but we don't seem to worry about it.

There is no water in it, so no mold can grow to make it rotten and dangerous. It can still be used for creative applications. According to the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service, “Vegetable oils have many good natural properties including good lubricity, good resistance to shear, a high flash point, and a high viscosity index.” These qualities make them quite versatile in a number of applications. You might consider keeping your old oil rather than throwing it out. Recycling expired oil could prove to be a valuable asset in emergency situations.
