Treatment and Recovery from Autism

​Children who recover from autism are proof that the condition is environmental and not genetic. Many children have been helped by removing gluten, dairy (casein), soy and sugar from their diet. Allergies, asthma, and autoimmune diseases are quite common symptoms in autistic children. Healing and Preventing Autism: A Complete Guide by Dr. Jerry Kartzinel and Jenny McCarthy is a great book packed with helpful guidance.

Dr. Robert Naviaux, from the University of California at San Diego, published a study in 2016 documenting a trial with a drug called Suramin on ten children with autism. Several patients saw remarkable improvement, but after 6 weeks the benefits began to fade. The parents stated that it was like someone turned the lights on in their child. We don't know if autism creates permanent brain damage or if the brain is locked in an inflamed or hyperstimulated state. If it can be unlocked, maybe the child can return to normal. Dr. Naviaux's study suggests that if you can turn off the cell danger response, normal brain function can resume. This agrees with other stories from recovered children who said they were always aware of the world but they felt as if they were trapped or locked away from expressing themselves.

Dr. Christopher Exley has several suggestions for removing aluminum from the body. He recommends drinking mineral water with silica. Specifically, Vittel and Fiji water (1.5 L in one hour) to flush the body. Also, adopting a ketogenic diet can be helpful. It has been shown to suppress immune activation in mice. Vitamin D, selenium, and especially the probiotic, bacterioides fragilis, are important. Studies show the probiotic "corrects gut permeability, alters microbial composition and ameliorates ASD-related defects in communicative, stereotypic, anxiety-like and sensorimotor behaviors." In his book, How to End the Autism Epidemic, J.B. Handley states that his vaccine-injured, autistic son, Jamison, has responded to biomedical intervention and got back his ability to speak, which was one of the most frustrating things he had dealt with. There is hope for autistic children. We need to stop the epidemic by changing the status quo surrounding vaccinations. And we can begin to repair children damaged by these vaccines in the past.
