It seems we are back in the mask business or at least many fear they'll need to pull it back out (if they stopped wearing it) because the new variant is upon us. Before I get to the new COVID-19 variant, let me spend a few minutes again on masks.

On November 5, 2021 the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) director, Rochelle Walensky, tweeted "Masks can help reduce your chance of #COVID19 infection by more than 80%." The one-sided Twitter fact checkers were nowhere to be seen. She gave no reference because there is none. In fact, a large study involving 341,830 people from 600 villages in rural Bangladesh was published August 31, 2021 by researchers from Yale, Stanford, and the University of California Berkeley. They found that the best masks could do was a lowly 9.3% reduction for people wearing cloth masks and only 11% for surgical masks. Previous peer-reviewed studies have indicated even less benefit or absolutely no benefit.  ​

Long-haul COVID, long-haul syndrome, or chronic COVID all refer to COVID symptoms that persist for more than a month. Common symptoms are cough, fatigue, chest pain, fever, loss of smell/taste, headache, shortness of breath, concentration or sleep problems, anxiety, and muscle/joint pain. These symptoms can arise after contracting a severe case of COVID naturally or can occur after a COVID-19 shot (called shot-induced syndrome). There are four areas of concern for the shot-induced syndrome, but let's first address the natural long-haul COVID cases. 

A great resource for current data on COVID-19 vaccination efforts for the United States and countries around the world is provided by Our World in Data. According to their statistics gathered as of the end of October 2021, 49% of the world's population have received at least one COVID-19 jab. That equates to nearly 7 billion doses. Combined with extensive natural immunity around the world, the coronavirus should not be in the news anymore. Pandemics are usually over in 6 to 8 months. They virtually never last 18 months.

Last week the FDA approved the COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11. No doubt you've heard this happened. In spite of many millions of people who have voiced their objection to these Emergency Authorization Use (EUA) vaccines, it was passed. There is no emergency in this age group or any other age group for that matter! The pandemic is long over, but world leaders continue to turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to these facts. Opposition against vaccine mandates and electronic passports continues to grow. More and more published scientific reports document the ineffectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines. For those who love reading scientific reports, here is a link to 22 studies and reports showing that the COVID-19 vaccines are less efficacious than what was advertised. Each study is listed and linked with a short summary of the main conclusions so you don't have to read the entire study. ​

A massive upgrade to the wireless telecommunication system is beginning. It is called the 5th generation, or 5G for short. Wireless or cell phone technology began in 1981 with bulky radio-receiver-type equipment that looked like large bricks with antennas on them. Over the years cellular devices have evolved. Approximately every decade a new generation of technology has been birthed.
