What About the Polio Vaccine?

Many people trust vaccinations because of the dramatic effect the polio vaccine had upon American health in the late 1950s. Images of children in iron lungs or with crutches are etched in memories and in photographs depicting the polio epidemic. Wearing masks, social distancing, and locking down the economy were never considered while Drs. Sabin and Salk worked tirelessly for years on their different vaccines. Despite today's false hope that vaccinations will save us from medical calamities, the facts prove that diseases like measles were not cured by a vaccine. Most diseases did not have a vaccine and were cured by improvements in living conditions. By the time the measles vaccine came out in 1963, the death rate from measles had already declined 99.96%. Deaths from asthma were ten times worse than measles that same year. There never has been a vaccine for asthma or most diseases but we don't seem to worry about it.

​Polio has a more complicated story. I will share some interesting aspects of this particular disease and if you still believe in getting a polio vaccine by the end of this article, it won't hurt my feelings. I'm going to make the case that the immune system God has given us is still the most important, natural way of protecting us from serious complications which can arise from disease. When vaccinations are employed to fight disease, they are a synthetic attempt to provoke the immune system into an artificial inflammatory response. Unlike our natural immune system, they are rife with many adverse side effects including death.

In his book, How to End the Autism Epidemic, ​J.B. Handley explains why the well-known, and usually mild, polio virus suddenly created a devastating epidemic in the late 1940s and early 1950s. For 98.5% of the population, polio was a minor event. Most people were not sick and had no symptoms. This sounds very similar to COVID-19 asymptomatics. Those who were sick with polio had fatigue, fever, and felt faint but got over it quickly. Only 1.5% developed the deadly form called poliomyelitis which could cause muscle pain, stiffness and even paralysis. 

Dr. Morton S. Biskind published his assessment in November 1953 in the American Journal of Digestive Diseases. His paper, "Public Health Aspects of the New Insecticides," laid out how the mild poliovirus was morphing into paralytic poliomyelitis. He noticed that the outbreaks were confined to warm weather months and had a higher prevalence in agricultural areas. He concluded that Monsanto's insecticide called dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane (DDT), which was first used in 1945, was the culprit. Pictures from that era show housewives filling their homes with a fog of DDT mist, dairy farmers dusting cows with it and even spraying it on the milk. Children cheerfully played in the spray as the DDT fogging machines rumbled by. (See Thomas S. Cowan's book, The Contagion Myth, p. 35.) Remember how Monsanto's Roundup with glyphosate was marketed as completely safe? But 40 years later a judicial court found it caused non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and awarded millions of dollars in damages! Public health services had warned (those who read their literature) about DDT use in 1951. They explained how risky it was: "DDT is a delayed-action poison. Due to the fact that it accumulates in the body tissues, especially in females, the repeated inhalation or ingestion of DDT constitutes a distinct health hazard. The deleterious effects are manifested principally in the liver, spleen, kidneys, and spinal cord...Children and infants especially are much more susceptible to poisoning than adults." 

Dr. Biskind explained how DDT allowed the poliovirus to enter the nervous system and become poliomyelitis: It produced "degeneration of the anterior horn cells of the spinal cord in animals." These cells at the top of the spinal column were the key entry point into the spinal cord. The poliovirus created inflammation of the myelin sheath in the cord which led directly to poliomyelitis. If the poliovirus didn't enter the spinal cord, it would not create paralysis. Monsanto's DDT was the gatekeeper. 

It is interesting to note that polio still persists in India despite Indian children being vaccinated fifteen or more times before age five. Why? DDT is still widely used in India. DDT was banned in the U.S. in 1972. The last known case of polio in the U.S. was in 1979. Military bases in the Philippines used DDT in the 1950s and had high cases of polio epidemic but the native Philippinos living outside the base did not. Israel did not have a polio epidemic until DDT started to be used. Across the world, the epidemiological studies show correlation with the use of DDT. So, while the polio vaccine surely helped eliminate the poliovirus (a mild disease), it appears that banning DDT was what ended the severe form of the disease, poliomyelitis.

One last point concerning the risks associated with the polio vaccine. Dr. Bernice Eddy was the highest-ranking female scientist in National Institute of Health (NIH) history. In 1954, the NIH directed her to test Dr. Salk's polio vaccine. She discovered, while testing 18 macaque monkeys, that Salk's vaccine contained residual live polio virus that was paralyzing the monkeys. She warned her NIH bosses but they dismissed her concerns. The distribution of that vaccine by Cutter Labs in California caused the worst polio outbreak in history. Health officials infected 200,000 people with live polio; 70,000 became sick. 200 children were left paralyzed and ten died. 

In 1961, Dr. Eddy discovered that a cancer-causing monkey virus, Simian Virus (SV-40), had contaminated 98 million Salk polio vaccines. When she injected SV-40 into newborn hamsters, the rodents sprouted tumors. Embarrassed by Dr. Eddy's work, NIH officials banned her from polio research and assigned her to other duties. The NIH buried the alarming information and continued using the vaccines. Millions of unsuspecting Americans received carcinogenic polio vaccines between 1961 and 1963. The Public Health Service concealed the secret for forty years. In total, 98 million Americans received shots containing the cancer-producing virus which is now part of the human genome. In 1996, government researchers identified SV-40 in 23% of the blood specimens and 45% of sperm specimens collected from healthy adults. Six percent of children born between 1980 and 1995 are infected. Public health officials gave millions of people the vaccine for years after they knew it was infected. They feared the news would seriously injure the reputation of the vaccine program. They contaminated humanity with a monkey virus that was dormant in the monkey but active in humans and refused to admit what they had done.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., in the forward to Dr. Judy Mikovits' book titled, Plague of Corruption (p. XVI), states that today SV-40 is used in research laboratories throughout the world because it is so reliably carcinogenic. Researchers use it to produce a wide variety of bone and soft-tissue cancers including mesothelioma and brain tumors in animals. These cancers have exploded during the baby boom generation which received the Salk and Sabin polio vaccines between 1955 and 1963. Skin cancers are up by 70%, lymphoma and prostate by 66%, and brain cancer by 34%. Prior to 1950, mesothelioma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma were virtually non-existent in humans. Today, doctors diagnose nearly 3,000 Americans with mesothelioma every year; 60% of the tumors tested contained SV-40. Today, scientists find SV-40 in a wide range of deadly tumors including close to 90% of brain tumors, 50% of bone tumors, and 100% of ependymomas (tumors of the central nervous system).

​Dr. Bernice Eddy is a hero but most people have never heard of her. The public will only hear the NIH, Center for Disease Control (CDC), and American Medical Association (AMA) tout the wonders of the polio vaccination program. The truth is actually very disturbing to those willing to question the authorities we trust with safeguarding our health.
